Our Services

High Country Elevator Company is a locally owned and operated elevator enterprise serving businesses and properties throughout Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties. We specialize in elevator maintenance, inspections, and code-compliant testing services.

With our skilled, union-trained, NEIEP certified technicians, we provide high-quality service on an as-needed basis—without locking clients into confusing or restrictive contracts.

We aim to provide the most efficient and affordable elevator solutions, ensuring building owners and managers can rely on us for their most critical safety and functionality needs.

Maintenance

$200/hour

Like any machine, elevators have to be regularly cleaned and maintained to ensure they run efficiently. A maintenance visit would include cleaning, lubrication, and a thorough inspection checklist that includes adjusting of existing equipment. Our skilled technicians can walk you through your elevator unit and make recommendations for repairs or service if needed.

Elevators are recommended to be serviced once a month, but if you are experiencing strange noises, smells, ride quality problems and more, we are happy to assist in diagnosing the issue. Regular maintenance can help you avoid costly repairs in the future.

Cat 1 Testing

$400 for Hydraulic Elevators

$800 for Traction and Electric Elevators

The State of Utah requires annual testing of all safety devices. Failure to comply can mean penalties and fees from the State. Our Cat 1 Testing fulfills the yearly requirement and ensures you are ready for your annual State inspection.

Our NEIEP certified technician will tag and seal all safety devices for the State inspector, and you will receive a copy of the checklist completed in preparation for the inspection. This service includes pressure testing for hydraulic elevators.

Standby Technician

$200/hour

Having a technician onsite can be a helpful asset for situations such as a walk through with the State inspector, building fire alarm testing, important events or functions, and more.

Consulting

$200/hour

High Country Elevator Company offers knowledgeable, third-party consulting for elevator needs and questions, including:

  • New elevator installation or modernization to ensure they meet industry standards

  • Assessing elevators in a building you may be procuring

  • General elevator welfare checks

  • Second opinion for elevator repair, or replacement recommendations

Hydraulic Packing Replacement

$1,200 for Single Cylinder and Conventional Elevators

$1,800 for Twin Vertical Single Stage

Hydraulic pistons have a series of seals at the top of the piston case where the jack meets the piston casing. These seals periodically wear out, and cause leaks resulting in excessive maintenance visits, safety concerns, and ultimately a State code violation.

This is the price of the repair, the seals will be sold separately to the customer at factory cost with proof of purchase price.

*These prices are for conventional passenger elevators only. For pricing on larger units and freight cars, please contact us.

**For a major repair such as Hydraulic Packing Replacement, we require an initial survey visit at a cost of $200 for our experienced technician to assess the elevator unit.
